Norwegian salmon producer Bremnes Seashore is now using sustainable fish boxes made from Styropor® Ccycled® for its high quality BÖMLO® salmon filets. The boxes are manufactured by Vartdal Plast using raw material sourced from BASF.
Sustainable packaging – food contact approved
The production process of fish boxes remains unchanged for Vartdal Plast, as the production of Styropor® Ccycled® boxes does not require any additional adjustments. Likewise, packaging made of Styropor® Ccycled® continues to have the same advantages as regular Styropor®. The manufacturing process is based on chemical recycling, in which plastic waste is converted into pyrolysis oil and then fed into BASF's value chain. The fact that the packaged fish arrives at its destination well chilled and, above all, fresh, is made possible by the excellent temperature resistance of Styropor®. In addition, the impact resistance of EPS packaging ensures that the goods remain intact during delivery.
